Carriage Tours
06 April 2019 & 07 April 2019
(other dates available)
History is brought to life at Woburn Abbey, as horses hooves can be heard on the cobblestones of the courtyards once again. Take in breathtaking views across the grounds and throughout the gardens of Woburn Abbey from the comfort of your private carriage. These types of carriages would have been a frequent sight around the grounds of the Abbey in the mid-1800s, the time of the 7th Duke and Duchess of Bedford. This was the time when Afternoon Tea is said to have been popularised by Duchess Anna Maria, and the 7th Duke and Duchess welcomed Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to the Abbey. Details www.woburnabbey.co.uk/carriage-tours-april-2019/
