Bedford Square Garden and Montague Street Garden are two stunning locations located in the heart of London available for hire for private functions and have been used by many high profile clients looking for an unusual location in which to host their corporate and private events.

Bedford Square Garden can accommodate up to 500 people for a reception or up to 250 for a formal dining event.

Montague Street Garden can accommodate up to 300 people for a reception and up to 50 for a formal dining event.

I'm interested in using Bedford Square or Montague Street Garden for my event. What should I do next?

Call The Bedford Estates on +44 (0)20 7299 8349 and we'll assist you with your enquiry and check availability of dates. We will require some basic details and the purpose of your event so as to ascertain the suitability of the squares with regard to your event requirements.

Are there any restrictions on use of the gardens?

Both gardens are privately owned and we therefore hope to offer more flexibility than other gardens. However, the main issues that may affect your plans are:

The curfew for all events is 10pm for Montague Street Garden and 11pm for Bedford Square Garden.

No amplified sound or music is allowed within Montague Street Garden. In terms of Bedford Square Garden, although we do not have specific restrictions on noise levels, we do ask event organisers to adhere to the London Borough of Camden's guidance on outdoor events. Please contact The Bedford Estate Office for further guidance.

No vehicles are allowed into the gardens. And no parking on the pedestrian areas outisde Bedford Square Gardens - except for deliveries & loading.

Exclusive use of the gardens may not extend beyond 2 days.

The maximum capacity is 300 guests within the Montague Street Garden and 500 in Bedford Square Garden. 

Does The Estate provide marquees and toilet facilities?

The Estate provides the space, power and water only (where applicable). You will need to arrange for the supply of any equipment and/or structures for your event.

Is there power and water?

There is water only within the Montague Street Garden. Water and three phase power (63 amp) are available within Bedford Square Garden.

Do we have to use your preferred suppliers?

No. You are free to use your own suppliers (subject to the provision of suitable references). We can provide you with details of events organisers who have used the gardens before and therefore have a good working knowledge of the space.

Can we serve alcohol in the garden?

Both gardens are private and therefore do not require special licensing for the serving of food or alcoholic beverages to invited guests. These gardens are not suitable for events where the sale of alcohol is proposed. We strongly advise that you consult The London Borough of Camden’s outdoor event team whilst planning your event.

How secure is the garden?

The gardens are kept locked at all times. There is no access to the general public. However, any valuable equipment left in the garden over night will be at your own risk.
